Philips Receives Fourth Consecutive VBDO Responsible Supply Chain Management Award

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – The Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO) has, for the fourth time in six years, recognized Philips’ achievements in the area of Responsible Supply Chain Management. Philips is ranked first among the forty largest publicly-listed Dutch companies benchmarked for this award.

 

This year, Philips received its highest score to date by the VBDO, scoring 56 out of a possible 59 points, equaling a 95% rating.    Over the past five years, Philips’ scores have shown continual improvement, increasing from 62% in 2006 to 93% in 2010.

 

“We are very pleased to once again receive this recognition from the VBDO,” commented Sonny Kwok, Head of Supplier Sustainability at Philips. “This recognition confirms that the programs we have put into place over the last few years are steadily improving the sustainability and transparency of our supply chain.”

 

In presenting the award to Philips, Director of the VBDO, Giuseppe van der Helm, commended Philips for its outstanding achievement in receiving the highest score for the fourth consecutive year. In particular, Philips’ transparency and openness in regard to its supply chain sustainability programs were applauded, along with the company’s increased dedication in supporting suppliers in improving their sustainability performance.

 

Philips is proud of this recognition and intends to further increase supplier collaboration and continue to seamlessly integrate sustainability within the company’s overall strategy.
