The Singapore Learning Center is Philips Healthcare’s first and largest dedicated facility for advanced medical equipment training in Asia Pacific. Occupying 37,000 sq ft, the Euro 12 million facility features the company’s latest sophisticated medical diagnostics equipment, including cardio vascular X-ray, general X-ray, computer tomography (CT) scanner, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound systems and Patient Monitoring. By providing education and training to healthcare technicians from the Asia Pacific, Australasia and the Middle East regions, the Singapore Learning Center aims to enable higher utilization of the technological advances in high performance diagnostics equipment for better and more accurate diagnostics, thereby accelerating the delivery of quality healthcare at various points throughout the integrated care cycle. Both local and regional medical communities would benefit from the easy access to Philips’ knowledge base in diagnostics technology and healthcare innovations. The Learning Center has eight lecture rooms, twenty labs and a 98-seater auditorium. Its full time trainer coaches can deliver lectures in English, Mandarin or Japanese language. Training programs offered are designed around the needs of healthcare technicians, from field sales and service engineers to marketing and application specialists, who require both theoretical and hands-on training for clinical practice. The full range of products, in its latest models, from Philips Healthcare are featured in the Learning Center and changed every 18 months to keep up with the product cycle so that trainees are always up-to-date with the newest technologies. Huge and bulky machines have a permanent place in the Learning Center, while smaller pieces of equipment are available for “mobile” training sessions, where they can be shipped to other countries in Asia for more cost-effective on-location training. Potential customers can also benefit by visiting the center for application training or equipment demonstration when they are in the process of equipping their hospital.
