Some JPEG images are not displayed on my Philips DVDR

    Published on 2017-02-28

This recorder only supports pictures in the JPEG-EXIF file format, using 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, and a resolution lower than 4096 x 4096 (horizontal x vertical). You can recognize JPEG files by the .jpg or .jpeg extension to the file name.

If you have downloaded JPEG images from the internet or modified them on a computer, the recorder may not be able to display them properly.

If your device does not show a certain picture, the easiest fix is to open the picture in your PC's photo editor and save a copy in the JPEG format. Most Windows based programs allow you to do this by clicking the Save as… option in the File menu.

Some JPEG images may have corrupted or missing EXIF information, which may cause the image to be displayed distorted or, in rare instances, cause the recorder to stop responding. Advanced computer users can try to use specialized software to retrieve the EXIF data or to copy it from another file.
