Jeff Cohen’s one-on-one interview with Kompas.com, one of Indonesia’s leading national media outlets.

    Jeff Cohen

Improving healthcare access across an archipelago as vast and diverse as Indonesia requires more than advanced technology. It calls for strong collaboration, solutions that are locally relevant, and a sustained commitment to strengthening healthcare systems.

In a recent interview with Kompas.com, Jeff Cohen, Senior Vice President and Global Business Leader for Ultrasound at Philips, shared how Philips is working to expand access to diagnostic imaging across Indonesia.

Indonesia’s healthcare system continues to navigate a unique set of challenges shaped by its geography and population scale. Delivering equitable access to quality care across thousands of islands remains complex, with gaps in infrastructure, uneven distribution of healthcare professionals, and limited access to advanced diagnostic tools in rural and remote areas. These challenges can lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment, reinforcing the need for more accessible, connected, and scalable diagnostic solutions across the country.

Philips is advancing innovation across the full spectrum of diagnostic imaging, from AI-enabled ultrasound solutions that support faster and more confident clinical decision-making to portable and connected technologies that bring care closer to patients. These innovations play an important role in enabling earlier detection and diagnosis, therefore helping to improve patient outcomes.

Our goal is to bring better healthcare to more people, wherever they are.

    Jeff Cohen

Senior Vice President and Global Business Leader for Ultrasound, Philips

A key focus for Philips is ensuring that innovation is accessible and scalable. By developing solutions that are adaptable to different care settings, including remote and underserved areas, Philips is helping to address disparities in access to quality diagnostics. This approach supports healthcare providers in delivering more consistent and efficient care across Indonesia.

Beyond technology, Philips continues to strengthen its long-standing presence in Indonesia through local manufacturing and partnerships that build healthcare capacity. By combining global innovation with local expertise, Philips supports Indonesia’s healthcare transformation and helps clinicians deliver quality care to the communities that need it most.
