Knowing when to change the nipple on your baby’s bottle comes down to two key things: nipple flow and general wear and tear. You’ll find that most nipples are labelled according to a baby’s age, but it’s really only an overall indication. If you notice your little one is spluttering or tensing during feeds, it might be a sign they need a nipple with a slower flow.

Once you’ve found a nipple your little one is comfortable with, it’s best to change bottle nipples every 3 months to ensure they remain in good condition. If you spot a crack anywhere, you’ll need to change it over straight away.
