A partnership in global innovation

The Philips Foundation and the International Committee of the Red Cross, along with the Netherlands Red Cross, aim to enable vulnerable people in fragile and violent contexts to access health care. We work together, and with relevant other parties, on initiatives ranging from jointly creating innovations, to strengthening community-based health settings, as well as providing immediate support to health care related disaster operations.

The International Committee of the Red Cross

Our mission

The ICRC is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the Geneva Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It directs and coordinates the international activities conducted by the Movement in armed conflicts and other situations of violence.

The Philips Foundation

Our mission

The Philips Foundation aims to reduce health inequality through meaningful innovation. It does this by deploying the expertise, knowledge and innovative skills of Royal Philips in collaborative projects with humanitarian organizations and social entrepreneurs across the world to design, adopt and deploy solutions that are sustainable and inclusive.
