Your Philips grill plate is reversible so you can use the side you like. When you put the plate on the grill, please check the following.

Make sure that:
The flush drainage groove is at the front
The drainage groove with the rim pointing upwards is seated properly on the two plate fixation points at the back
When you touch the plate and try to move it, it stays securely on the grill
For grills without fixation points:
The drainage slot with the rim around it has to be at the front over the grease tray.
Please also check the following:
The projections in the rim on the left and right side of the plate have to be at the back.
Note: When you touch the plate and try to move it, it should stay securely on the appliance.
