How to playback DVDs made on my Philips DVDR on other devices?

    Published on 2017-03-01

In order to play a recorded DVDR or DVDRW on another DVD player, you have to either finalize the disc (for a DVDR) or make it compatible (for a DVDRW).

Proceed as follows to finalize a DVDR:

    Note:
Once a DVDR disk has been finalized, you can no longer add or edit recordings on it. Make sure that you have finished recording and editing the material before you finalize the disk.

    • Press DISC MENU.
    • Select a title and press the Yellow button [Edit].
    • Select [Disc] > [Finalize], then press OK.A warning message is displayed.

To cancel, select [Cancel], then press OK.
      otherwise -
Select [OK]and press OK to start finalizing the disk. The process takes a few minutes depending on the length of recordings. Do not open the disc tray or switch off the power as this may render the disc unusable.

Proceed as follows to make a DVDRW compatible:

    • Press HOME.
    • Select [Settings] and press OK.
    • Select [Disc] > [Make Compatible]and press OK.

      A confirmation message is displayed.
If you want to cancel the procedure, select [Cancel] and press OK.
      otherwise -
Select [OK] and press OKto complete the procedure.

The process may take a few minutes, depending on the length of recordings. Do not open the disk tray or switch off the power as this may render the disk unusable.

If the option [ Make Compatible ] is not available, the disk is already compatible for playback.
