[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Azur is a great basic steam iron to have. While the steam is not as fantastic as the steam generator irons, it does a very decent job of producing continuous steam throughout the entire ironing session. The amount of water it can hold, is sufficient for an hours' worth of ironing with continuous steam, so I only had to top it up once. The iron really does a good job at getting rid of the creases. I only ironed my shirt sleeves on one side, and the other was perfectly crisp too! It does help to cut down on time, effort and energy. The weight of the iron was just right, heavy enough to cut down on using your own strength to press your clothes, but light enough that it does not strain the wrist. If you are looking for a basic steam iron, the Azur will definitely meet, or even surpass your expectations.

I gave present to my wife and she really likes it, it make her easier to iron our clothes.

Steam is strong and easy to glide. Cleaning and maintaining the iron is no hassle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression of the iron was that it's pretty heavy, compared to my previous iron, and bigger too. It also consumes a lot of power - actually slightly more than my Philips vacuum cleaner, and that's really something. But I can tell the difference in how fast it takes to heat up, and that I don't need to press down on the iron so much to iron out the creases. I admit I haven't fully maximised the steam function, which probably contributes to the hefty price (for an iron). So I'd say if you just need the basic functions, this iron is not for you. But if spend a lot of time ironing, then this iron may help.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been hearing my wife ranting about how our current Japanese-branded iron kinda makes her hate the chore of ironing because it was tiring and didn't really do a good job. Then came the godsend; The Philips Azur Steam Iron came thru the delivery and i might have told her it was a "gift", as a way to tell her that I appreciate the hard work she's been putting. Insisted that i unbox for her and set it up because i want to personally witness how good can an iron get. Lo and behold... Sharp, slick, good grip, and eye-catching design with great color match; it felt like i've bought a racing car instead of an electrical appliance. It has a good weight to it too, heavy enough to justify its price-tag and quality! The iron plate has a large surface to cover huge swathes of clothes yet the tip was sharp enough to go into every nook and cranny of the clothes! (but hey, not sharp enough to be classed as a weapon) Decided to give it a go with a couple of my work shirts and I would have to say it's much more fun to iron clothes with a good-looking machine; +50 points to masculinity! There's also a huge water reservoir so that I don't have to keep topping up. Saves about 200+ steps walking to the toilet annually... Then came the wife to try it out. I was surprised by the speed she was blazing thru the stack of clothes. Not a word of grumble or a death stare whenever i pass by her. It was pure bliss; and the house was free of cursing and swearing that afternoon. It was a good day. Asked my wife the next day on her verdict of the new toy; She loved it! She love the huge surface area of the ironing plate. She loved how sharp the tip was and she could reach places that she never knew she could! And it glided thru every piece of clothing she owned with ease; unlike the previous iron where it felt more like trying to shave my beard. However, as most women out there she will always find a way to find flaw in anyone or anything; it was too heavy for her. She swore to me that after 4-5 days of using that iron she could feel that her arms getting stronger. She even tried to flex her arm muscles in front of me; But she wished it could be a little bit lighter; with a full water tank + the iron, it's roughly the same weight as my first born (she was exaggerating i assumed).

It requires double the strength to get things done and it really causes an aching arm at the end of the day. As I know most of the users are female, I don’t think this is a good selling point of the iron.

The weight of the iron keeps the clothes straightened out however I find that it is heavy for me. Water feature can last up to an hour of usage but the button is a little stiff to press at times. Aesthetic wise, azur tends to look and feel bulky. However it does its job well in having clothes ironed out clean and straight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the first impression, the Azur Steam Iron looks nice. The colours are not those tacky purple or teal that many irons have. The weight is also much heavier than my current iron. At first, I was not used to it, but after using it a couple of times, I've gotten used to it. The good thing about the weight is that shirts get straightened much faster than before! That is the main role of an iron, hence in this aspect, the Azur Steam Iron is good. However, there are some aspects of the iron that I didn't like: 1. The water spray button doesn't bounce back immediately, so if you want to spray water on your clothes repeatedly, you'll find that this button is annoying because of the lag. Sometimes it gets stuck for a few seconds before slowly coming back to its original position. 2. The cable tends to push my clothes while I'm ironing. The cable doesn't extend far out from the base of the iron (unlike my current iron), so when it inevitably comes into contact with the ironing board and the shirt. As a result, my shirt is pushed by the cable and it ends up getting crumpled. 3. The grip is too smooth and the button on the underside of the handle makes holding the iron a little more uncomfortable. I'd wish that there was some rubber along the handle, and that the buttons were all on the top.
