    The UV light of my Philips Mite Cleaner will not turn on

    If the UV light of your Philips Mite Cleaner will not turn on, this might have several reasons. Read along for possible causes and solutions.

    The UV light of your Philips Mite Cleaner only lights up when it is used on a surface. The UV light is controlled by a sensor at the bottom of the appliance. This sensor ensures that the light goes out when the appliance is 5 cm off the surface. The sensors are added for safety reasons. For this reason, you are not able to look directly into the UV light when you lift the appliance. If the UV light is switched on, the display of the appliance shows two blue bars on the side of the display.

    The UV light goes on and off as you move the appliance over different colors and materials or when the surface is very dark. If you are cleaning the bed or cushions and have very dark sheets, remove the sheets and apply the mite cleaner on the mattress or cushion surface directly.

    Do not replace the UV light of your Philips Mite Cleaner by yourself. You can order a new UV light via the Philips Consumer Care Centre. The UV light will be replaced in a Philips Service Centre.
