The milk from my Philips Avent bottle warmer is too hot or cold

We recommend using fresh, room temperature water for best results when filling your bottle warmer. Base the water level and setting on the amount of milk in the bottle, not the bottle's capacity.

In most cases, filling your bottle warmer with water to the same level as the milk in the bottle is sufficient (image 2).

For the 2-in-1 Warmer & Sterilizer, you can use the window on the front to check (image 1).

 When warming a large amount of milk where the height of the milk in the bottle is above the rim of the warmer, fill the base up to 1 cm/0.4 in below the rim (image 3).

Place the bottle into your bottle warmer, and then fill it with water (refer to the section above for guidance). Only switch on your bottle warmer after following these steps.

Adding the bottle after switching on the device will alter the final milk temperature.

The recommended heating times provided with your Philips Avent bottle warmer are based on polypropylene bottles. Glass bottles may heat more quickly, while silicone bottles heat more slowly. Additionally, bottles with additional parts may disrupt the warming process.

When using a silicone bottle, allow it to warm for 3-4 additional minutes after the warming cycle is finished.

When using a bottle with additional connected parts —  such as a plastic or silicone base — please explore two solutions:

1. Gradually increase the setting until the milk reaches the desired temperature.
2. Warm the milk in a separate bottle or storage bag, then pour it into the desired bottle. 

Glass bottles may heat more quickly due to heat transferring faster. Use a lower setting when warming milk in a glass bottle. Refer to the table below for the setting to use when warming a glass bottle.

Only use the keep warm/defrost setting to warm a milk bag.
