Excellent OLED TV to buy even in 2018
Prior year model going at discounted price. Still a reference OLED 55" TV set to get at the going price compared to more recent models. Outstanding picture quality with more than adequate screen brightness for the average home use; very good contrast range from inky blacks to sky-scorching rainbow hues. Hard to revert back to the run-of-the-mill LED TVs once you spend some time with this unit. Invest in a bit of time calibrating the picture settings and you'll have very good, very true to life, picture quality. The attached soundbar complements the excellent screen with satisfying sound quality as well, for those who don't intend to spend extra on a separate external soundbar. Vocal clarity over thumping bass. The Philips LED Ambilight is definitely not a gimmick. The Ambilight feature effectively complements the picture quality and screen spatial perception more than expected. A satisfying feature to have that enhances your viewing pleasure. As expected of a reference model (in the year it was released), there are more than adequate AV connections of all types. Build quality and finishing is very good too. Unit comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware out of the box but Nougat 7.1 was waiting to be installed as soon as you connect the set to your home WiFi. Problem-free update process. Philips has plans to extend Oreo 8.0 for this unit in the near future. Kudos to Philips for the continued support. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

A good product but.....
Just bought one for a week. Twice prompt msg to swicth off due to oled been used for long period. Doesn't the oled rest when it's switched off at night? Why must does this happens when the tv is in used? Call Philips and was told it is normal. If I've known this tv has this issue, I wouldn't have bought it.
