How to play audio in my Philips TV from an external device using a DVI to HDMI connection?

    Published on 2016-12-29

When you make a DVI-HDMI connection you have to make a separate audio connection, since DVI does not support audio.

Follow these steps to connect the devices:

    1. Switch the external device and the TV off.
    2. Connect the DVI-to-HDMI adapter from the ‘DVI’ connection of the external device to the ‘HDMI’ connection at the rear of the TV.
    3. Connect the audio cable from the ‘AUDIO OUT’ connection of the external device to the ‘VGA’ ‘AUDIO IN L R’ connection at the rear of the TV.
    4. Switch the external device and the TV on.
    5. Press the [Source] button on the remote control repeatedly to select the [HDMI input] and press the [OK] button to accept.
