1. Open the cover
2. Turn the handle with the air filter counterclockwise and remove it from the lid
3. Remove the air filter and clean it under the tap
4. Let the air filter dry completely before you reattach it to the handle
5. Reattach the air filter back onto the lid and turn it clockwise
6. Close the cover
