How to improve the performance of my DLNA streaming?

    Published on 2017-02-28

In order to improve the performance of your DLNA streaming, you need to reduce the interference from your Wi-Fi devices.

Below are a few recommendations for how to reduce the interference:

    • Assign wireless channels differently, preferably to channels 1, 6 and 11, which are non-overlapping channels
    • Use a USB extension cable
    • Position your wireless equipment and Home Theater System (HTS) for optimal network performance.
      • Try placing the device in several different locations to find a good spot for your equipment. This is often the only practical way to assure the best possible performance from your Wi-Fi.
      • Aim to install the wireless access point or router in a central location.
      • Place your wireless router and HTS in the same room, less than 5 meters away from each other.
      • Avoid physical obstructions where possible between the client and base stations as this will interfere with the Wi-Fi radio signal.
      • Avoid reflective surfaces where possible to improve both network range and performance.
      • Set up the wireless access point or router at least 1 m (3 feet) away from other home appliances that send wireless signals within the same frequency range.
      • Install the unit away from any electrical equipment that also generates interference. Avoid electric fans, other motors, and fluorescent lighting or DECT phones (2.4 Ghz)
