My Philips OneUp electric mop leaves water traces or stripes on the floor

    Published on 21 October 2025

If your Philips OneUp electric mop leaves water traces or stripes on the floor, this can have several causes. Below, find out how to simply solve this yourself.

    1. Dirty Water Tank Is Full
      • If the dirty water tank is full, water will not be absorbed. Empty the tank to continue cleaning.
    2. Clean Water Tank Not Properly Connected
      • If the clean water tank is not connected correctly, water may drip onto the floor. Push the tank down firmly to secure it.
    3. Too Much Detergent Used
      • Press the dosing button only once for the correct amount of detergent. If you used too much, empty the tank, rinse it under the tap, and refill with clean water.
    4. Detergent Residue on the Floor
      • Residue can cause streaks. Clean the floor several times without detergent to remove any buildup.
    5. Nozzle Lifted from the Floor
      • Do not lift the nozzle while cleaning or hold it vertically, as this can cause dripping and water traces.
    6. Clogged Pad
      • If cleaning is uneven, wash the pad in the washing machine (up to 40°C). Follow the care label. Replace the pad if needed (models XV1882 or XV1883).
    7. Wrong Wetness Setting (Only 5000 Series)
      • Use Wetness Setting 2 (two LEDs lit) for a wetter cleaning result. The appliance always starts at Wetness Setting 1 by default (see image below).

These steps should resolve most cleaning issues. For further help, refer to a Philips service center or contact us for further assistance.
