This causes the motor to become too hot, which triggers the overheat protection of the motor. Unplug the appliance and empty the dust container and clean the filter unit. If the appliance switches off again when you connect it to the mains and switch it on again, replace the HEPA filter.

This triggered the overheat protection of the motor. When the motor gets overheated because the appliance was used longer than 30 minutes, you have to wait 2 hours to let the appliance cool down.
