How to descale my Philips Coffee Maker?
Note: To descale the coffee maker, you can use any liquid descaler or use white household vinegar (4% acetic acid). We advise you not to use powder descalers or descaling tablets as they could harm the inside of your coffee maker.
Descaling the coffee maker
- Fill the water tank with white vinegar. Put a paper filter in the filter holder to collect the scale
- Switch on the machine
- Let it brew until the water tank is empty then switch off the machine and let it cool down for 3 minutes
- Empty the jug and remove the paper filter
- Fill the water tank with fresh cold water
- Switch on the machine
- Let it brew until the water tank is empty then switch off the machine and let it cool down for 3 minutes
- Repeat step 5-7 for two more times until the water in the jug no longer tastes or smells like vinegar.
- Clean all the parts in a dishwasher or with some liquid soap.
