What is Philips Avent’s position on micro plastics in baby bottles? (2021)

    Published on 12 July 2024
As a leading parent and childcare brand, Philips Avent considers the safety of its consumers as our highest priority. We ensure this by full compliance with all applicable safety requirements set by legislators globally and locally and by following the strictest standards.

There are regulatory authorities in place to govern the materials that can be used to create baby bottles and other food-contact materials. In the United States, this is the Food and Drug Association, in Canada, it’s Health Canada, in Europe, the European Food Safety Authority as well as other health authorities around the world.

Philips vigorously follows and closely monitors legislation related to the manufacturing of its products and is not aware of any studies recognized by health authorities that confirm health risks of micro plastics in baby bottles.

Philips Avent offers parents a choice of plastic or glass bottles. Our glass bottles are made of premium quality borosilicate glass. They are heat and thermal shock resistant, so they can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed, and sterilized.
